Ordering Granite Worktops

1 . Initial enquiry

First thing to do is send us a plan along with our quotation request form.

If you wish to post it to our address you can print off the form here, or fax it to 0845 330 1260.

The plan can be a kitchen designers plan or just a rough sketch with approximate dimensions. There is no need for it to be to scale but we would like an idea of the layout and where the cut outs are going to be.

Please also state whether you require upstands / splash-backs and whether the sink(s) are under-mounted.

Please also make sure that you list any other extras like window sills or splash-backs that are required.

Please call 0845 330 1692 (01293 863992) if you would like us to send small samples (£5 p+p) or you may wish to arrange a visit to our workshop & warehouses at Unit 5, John Lory Farm, Charlwood Place, Norwood Hill rd, Charlwood, Surrey, RH6 0EB to view larger samples and slabs.

2. Pricing

We price as per the number of worktop blanks and up-stands you require (for the 2500 x 650 x 30mm size we can sell half slabs).

Even if your measurements are a little bit out as long as we can still make the worktops from the blanks allocated, then the price will not change.

3. Formal Quotation

We send you a written quotation including the number and type of cut outs we have allowed for and any extras we have discussed.

4. Placing the Order

If you are happy with the details of the formal quotation then to place an order we require a 20% deposit (50% for bespoke materials or fits at third party addresses). The granite can only be allocated on receipt of the deposit which can be paid by cheque, debit/credit card. (Unfortunately we cannot accept American Express cards). We also require a signed copy of the formal quotation.

On receipt of your deposit we will book you into your preferred installation week (subject to availability). We do not provide you with an exact templating or installation date as it is very difficult to predict accurately when your kitchen will be ready – 9 times out of 10 people aren't ready when they think they are going to be!

5. Ready for Templating

As soon as you are completely ready for templating (see Template Checklist) then contact the office and we will put you on our template scheduling list. We will give you a call in advance of our next visit to your area to arrange a time to template. In certain circumstances there may not be the need to template (Will we template?)

If your kitchen is running ahead of schedule and you are ready for templating early then let us know and we will try and bring you forward if a space becomes available. Likewise if you are experiencing delays with your kitchen installation then please give the office notice so that we can push your fit week back.

6. Actual Templating

This is a critical step where we specify the exact nature of the granite we will produce, and we cannot emphasise too strongly the need for you to be on site to discuss your kitchen with the templater.

Templating normally takes 30 minutes to 2 hours for more complicated jobs. Please make the templater aware if for any reason you don’t want the installation as soon as possible after this – otherwise we will expect to fit in 1-3 working days after the templates have been made.

 7. Installation of the worktops

We will install the granite, this generally takes from 2 hours for more straight forward installations and up to 6 hours for more complicated jobs. You are required to be there on completion of the installation to inspect the worktops and arrange for the balance to be paid by debit/credit card. More details on installations >>
